At DGCKids, we know that meaningful connections strengthen our mission to support children with visual impairments and their families. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Anne Silea as our Director of Community Engagement!
Anne is no stranger to DGCKids—she previously led our community engagement efforts for more than six years, and we are grateful to have her expertise, passion, and leadership guiding this work once again.

A Deep Commitment to Advocacy and Community
With over 18 years in the nonprofit sector, Anne has dedicated her career to advocating for children and families. Her experience includes:
✅ Managing statewide advocacy and policy efforts
✅ Leading a county-wide ballot initiative for children’s mental health funding
✅ Helping rural hospitals adopt new technology to better serve their communities
✅ Building statewide coalitions to address critical issues across Missouri
Her work has always centered on bringing people together to create lasting change, making her the perfect person to strengthen our community partnerships and outreach at DGCKids.
A Passion for Supporting Families
Anne holds a Master of Social Work and has served on multiple boards, including Missouri Kids Count, St. Louis Council on Child Abuse and Neglect, and the Missouri Rural Health Association. She has also shared her knowledge as an adjunct professor at Washington University’s Brown School of Social Work.
Her wealth of experience and passion for empowering families will help us expand our reach, connect with new partners, and ensure that every child and family we serve feels supported and seen.
Looking Ahead
At DGCKids, we believe in the power of community. Whether it’s through partnerships, outreach, or shared experiences, we know that together, we can make a real impact. With Anne at the helm of our community engagement efforts, we look forward to strengthening relationships, building new connections, and continuing to grow the DGCKids community.
