At DGCKids, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. This National Volunteer Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible individuals and groups who show up, week after week, event after event, adventure after adventure, for children with visual impairments and the families we serve.

The Faces of Volunteering at DGCKids
Volunteering at DGCKids looks different for everyone, and that is one of the things we love most about our community. From seasoned long-term volunteers to first-time corporate groups, every person who gives their time makes a meaningful difference.
Our Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors gives generously of their time, expertise, and leadership to help guide DGCKids forward. These dedicated community members bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to our mission, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that DGCKids remains a strong, sustainable, and impactful organization for the children and families we serve. We are incredibly grateful for their vision and support.
Tandem Adventurers Captains
Our Tandem Adventurers captains are a special group. These dedicated volunteers hop on the front seat of a tandem bike and pedal with children and teens with visual impairments, exploring local trails and building confidence one ride at a time. The connections formed on those rides are powerful, and the smiles say it all. Thank you for being the engine that makes every adventure possible.
Event Volunteers
Behind every DGCKids celebration, fundraiser, and family event is a team of enthusiastic volunteers who bring the magic to life. From setting up and decorating, to welcoming families at the door, to helping the day run smoothly from start to finish, our event volunteers help create joyful, memorable experiences for the children and families we serve. Your energy and enthusiasm make every event one to remember.
Long-Term Program Volunteers
Some of our volunteers have been with us for years and even decades, and their commitment means a lot to us. These long-term program volunteers bring consistency, familiarity, and care to the children and families they support. They are trusted faces, steady presences, and cherished members of our community. Thank you for your years of dedication and your belief in our mission.
Corporate Volunteer Groups
We are so grateful for the corporate groups who partner with DGCKids to give back to our community. Whether they are organizing supplies, sprucing up our facility, or supporting a special project, these teams arrive ready to work, and they always leave a lasting impact. Thank you for investing your time and talent in the children and families we serve.
