On April 27, 2025, our community came together for Celebration for Sight, a day filled with joy, connection, and inclusion for families of children with visual impairments. From face painting and music to tandem bike rides and sensory activities, it was a day that perfectly captured the heart of DGCKids, supporting families while celebrating every child’s unique way of experiencing the world.

We’re especially grateful to Hope Serves and the Delta Gamma Foundation for helping make this event possible.

What is Hope Serves?

Hope Serves is the Delta Gamma Foundation’s annual day of service, bringing together Delta Gammas across the country to honor the sorority’s mission of “Doing Good.” On this special day, collegiate and alumnae members dedicate their time and talents to projects that promote inclusion, compassion, and service, with a special focus on the Foundation’s philanthropy, Service for Sight.

Here in St. Louis, DG alumnae and collegians joined DGCKids to volunteer and support Celebration for Sight as part of Hope Serves. From welcoming families to leading activities and lending helping hands throughout the day, their energy and kindness made the event shine even brighter.

Continuing a Legacy of Vision and Service

The partnership between DGCKids and the Delta Gamma Foundation is one built on shared purpose and history. Delta Gammas founded DGCKids in 1951 when a group of women saw the need to support children with visual impairments and their families. Though DGCKids has since grown into an independent nonprofit organization, our connection to Delta Gamma, through the Foundation, Hope Serves, and local chapters, continues to be a vital part of our story.

We are deeply thankful for the ongoing generosity and support of the Delta Gamma Foundation and for the countless volunteers who make events like Celebration for Sight possible. Your dedication ensures that families continue to find connection and joy in every DGCKids experience.

Thank you for shining with us!
