DGCKids in the Media — A Conversation Worth Having
When a child is diagnosed with a visual impairment, families are often left with more questions than answers. Where do we go? Who do we call? What does this mean for our child’s future?
That’s exactly why this conversation matters.
Recently, DGCKids’ Anne Silea had the privilege of sitting down with the incredible Laura Hettiger on her Live with Laura Podcast, alongside Julie Dirnbeck, a DGCKids mom and board member, to talk about what families should do when their child can’t see. It was an honest, heartfelt conversation that we are grateful to have had.
DGCKids has been supporting children with visual impairments and their families in St. Louis for 75 years, from birth through high school graduation. We offer early intervention services, family support, vision screening, and so much more, all rooted in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Julie’s story as a mom in the DGCKids community is a powerful reminder of what it looks like when the right support shows up at the right time. And the expertise our team brings to every family we serve is at the heart of everything we do.
Whether you are a parent navigating a new diagnosis, an educator looking for resources, or simply someone who believes in the power of community, this episode is for you.
