THE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES EDUCATION ACT

Originally passed by congress in 1975, this law has guaranteed that eligible children and youth with disabilities would have available to them a free appropriate public education FAPE) designed to meet their unique educational needs.

Part C of IDEA is the section of the statute which addresses those services and supports available to children with special needs under the age of three. Those services are referred to as Early Intervention Services. There are sixteen early intervention services available through this program including:
