Donations and Volunteer Opportunities

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The majority of the cost of the programs and services provided by the Delta Gamma Center for Children is covered through generous gifts from individuals, organizations, businesses, foundations and other community organizations.

You give because you want to make a difference. Your gift gives children who are blind or visually impaired the opportunity to learn and develop the skills that will allow them to live in a sight-oriented world and live and full and rewarding life. You can make a gift in several ways:

  • Cash Gifts are tax deductible and remain one on the simplest, most common ways of contributing. Gifts of any size are appreciated and will make a difference. You can designate your gift as a gift of remembrance.
  • A Gift of Remembrance is a loving and thoughtful way to remembers friends, family members and love ones (memorials, birthday, wedding anniversaries or other special occasion.)
  • Your place of employment may have a matching gift program that will match all or part of the gift you make to the Delta Gamma Center for Children.
  • Naturally Unique Boutique is donating 2.5% of net proceeds to the Delta Gamma Center. Please visit their website for great gift ideas or for a treat for yourself.
  • Tax Free IRA Distributions to Charities - Owner's of IRAs who are 70.5 or older can give up to $100,000 from their IRA or Roth IRA to charitable organizations in 2006 and 2007 without recognizing any income on the distribution. The contributed amount is also considered part of the taxpayer's Required Minimum Distribution. The distribution must be done as a direct rollover from the IRA trustee to the charity. Please consult your tax advisor for further information.
  • Gifts of Stock(s) allow a donor to take an immediate income tax deduction for the full market value of the investment up to a percentage of adjusted gross income. Please confer with your tax advisor for details.
  • Inkind donations are welcome. Many of the special event fundraisers have inkind donation opportunities.
  • Pro bono services could be help from professionals in public relations, photography, marketing, graphic design, law or other areas where expertise is needed.
  • The Delta Gamma Center for Children holds several special event fundraisers throughout the year to bring people together and create meaningful and fun ways to contribute. Check out the Special Events Calendar.
