Enrolling for services for infants and toddlers in
your state:
Services to eligible children, birth to 36 months of age are called
early intervention services. A Federal law requires that states
provide early intervention services to eligible children. That law
is Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act or
IDEA.

In Missouri, the early intervention program is called The First

Ask for the intake department. Tell them that you have a child
under the age of three with a visual impairment and that you would
like the intake forms you need to enroll him or her in their program.
They will send you forms to complete and return. Then they will
assign a service coordinator to learn more about your concerns and
to help you get the services that your child needs.
We would be happy to answer your questions and help you through
this process.
Enrolling for services through the Delta Gamma Center:
We need some information from you in addition to a statement from
a doctor indicating that your child has a visual impairment.
